NoteMagic: Did you know?

Did you know that when you install NoteMagic, it becomes the default text editor for the version of Windows that you are currently using? Once NoteMagic has been installed and properly activated, double-click on any text or ini file in Windows or any third-party File Manager and it will automatically open in NoteMagic. To remove Notemagic as the default text editor, you will need to go to Control Panel: Add Remove Programs and uninstall your copy.

NoteMagic may remain on the system as an alternate text editor while WordPad or another program is left as the default text editor. So in the Windows Explorer, one may go to the Tools menu item, choose Folder Options, and edit the "Open" program choice for the TXT extension to choose the default text editor. One may also right click on a text file in the Explorer, choose "Open with..." and select their preferred default text editor (even if they have to "Browse") and confirm it by checking the "Always use this program..." box before completing the process.

Did you know that NoteMagic displays the line and column your cursor is in. Open a text file or open a new one and look in the bottom left-hand corner. For example 34:23 means that your cursor in on line 34 and in column 23 of the current text file.

Did you know that in NoteMagic the background color and font used to display and edit text files can be easily modified.
Go to Options: Options: Display and choose which colors you wish to use as background colors for the main and edit screen. Once you have chosen a background color, choose a matching font color. At the same time, make sure that if you choose a font and color that is difficult to see when printing (white letters on a blue background - when printing the background color is always white), that you uncheck the Use to print checkbox. This forces NoteMagic to use the default printer font (Souvenir Lt BT - 10pt).

To change the default printer font, go to File: Customize Report.... In the report editor click on MasterData: Text Body and change the font in the toolbar to one that suits you. Save your report in the editor and you're ready to print your text files in the chosen font.
