The program can create and edit icons with image formats in either standard or custom sizes, with color depths up to 256 Colors. You can make buddy icons, aim buddy icons, messenger icons and any other types of custom icons quickly & easily. The icon maker inludes a full set of Paint & Editing tools include: Pixel Paint Pencil, Color Picker, Flood Fill, Eraser, Transparency Tool, Text Tool, Line Tool, Rectangle and Ellipse Tools.

It supports multiple Undo & Redo History so that you can always correct your mistakes when creating or editing icons & cursors. ICONStudio 5.0 allows you to import, export and change Color Palettes to make buddy icons. You can create buddy icons from .ico, .wmf, .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, and .gif files and import images from screen captures as well using the icon maker.
