Introducing NetTools
NetTools - a great solution for measuring your network performance and quickly diagnosing network problems. Its most powerful component is graphical NetWatch with a history of response time and packets lost (for monitoring the availability of your hosts). It also consists of other popular tools like trace, lookup, port scanner, network scanner, and SNMP browser. What makes NetTools unique, according to our customers, is the most highly intuitive user interface.

What's new in the 2.1 version:

· Alerts. NetWatch has alerting capabilities now. You can set e-mail, message, sound and icon tray notifications as alerts when a host is not responding or when a connection degradation occurs.
· MAC addresses in network scanner. When scanning the network, NetTools will present MAC (hardware) addresses for detected hosts (an SNMP host is required to run in this network).
· System description in network scanner. You will see a system description for every SNMP host detected.
· Faster start. Due to several optimizations, the new version starts much faster than the previous one.
· New SNMP engine. We have built a completely new SNMP component - much faster and very stable. It is able to read SNMP data even on a slow or overloaded connection.
· Multiping has changed its name to NetWatch to reflect the fact that it monitors the network for any connection problems.

· Windows 2000/XP/2003 · Administrator rights required (see the note below)
Hardware

· 500 MHz system or higher · At least 128 MB RAM · Video: 800x600 or more, high color · Network adapter card connected to your LAN/WAN
Administrator rights

To run properly computer administrator rights are required. Otherwise NetTools cannot send ICMP requests - this Windows feature is strictly disabled for non-administrators.

Free vs. Pro version

The product that consists of two versions: Free and Professional. Free NetTools version provides you with Ping, Trace and Lookup tools which you may freely use for an unlimited time. There are also other tools like alerting or Network Scanner, which are part of NetTools Professional. These tools are included for evaluation and you may use them for 30 days, after which the evaluation period expires and they will be disabled..
